Microsoft has started releasing updates for the Microsoft Office 2013 and it is the best time to update to office 2013. If you currently have office 2010, you would really enjoy the new features and a better UI experience of the Office 2013. So you should upgrade MS office 2010 to office 2013 as soon as possible. In this article we share the exact instructions to upgrade office 2010 to office 2013.
Before we tell you the instructions, you should keep these things in mind. If you have MS office 2010 currently installed in your system then you have two choices. You can have both office 2010 and office 2013 installed in your system or you can upgrade MS office 2010 to office 2013. Also you can install or upgrade to office 2013 only if you have Windows 7 or 8 as your operating system. Unfortunately you cannot upgrade MS office 2010 to Office 2013 if you have Windows Vista or Windows XP.
Also you can upgrade between two compatible bit versions only i.e. you can upgrade a MS office 2010 32-bit version to MS office 2013 32-bit version and similarly a 64 bit office 2010 to 64 bit office 2013. So check your current version of office 2013 before you upgrade. And finally an upgrade to Office 2013 will delete Office 2010 from your system.
Let’s turn our heads over with the step by step instructions to upgrade MS office 2010 to Office 2013.
Step 1 –
Download the office setup. In some cases the setup file might be an ISO file. Mounting an ISO file is quite simple if you have Windows 8. You can open the file with Windows Explorer and then you can mount it.

Double click on the Setup file and wait for the next window. A window pop up will appear and you need to click on ‘Yes’. You can also check the option “Always do this for software and games” for easier installations in the future.
Step 3 –
You then need to accept the License Agreement. Simply check the option “I agree the terms of this agreement’ and finally click on the ‘continue’ button.
Step 4 –
On the next window you would have two options ‘Upgrade’ or ‘Customize’. If you want to keep both the versions then click on customize. You can choose your options there. However if you wish to upgrade from Office 2010 to Office 2013 then you need to click on the ‘Upgrade’ option.
Step 5 –
Your installation will now take place. It may take some time for the installation depending upon the processing capabilities of your system. So be PATIENT! Finally you will see a ‘Thank You’ window confirming your installation. Click on ‘close’ and then open any of the Microsoft Office 2013 programs.
You would have now upgraded MS office 2010 to Office 2013.
Most setups would come with 60 days free trial, but at some point you would have to activate your office 2013. You can purchase the key online.
