Today, there is a lot of reasons for road accidents. But driver drowsiness and a lack of alertness is definitely one of the most important. For example, The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration conservatively estimates that “100,000 police-reported crashes are the direct result of driver fatigue each year. This results in an estimated 1,550 deaths, 71,000 injuries, and $12.5 billion in monetary losses.”
With its new technology DADS (Driver Alertness Detection System), Intercore Company and SRG International(InterCore’s subsidiary) try to help combat those issues. And after nearly 12 years of research, this new system is now available!
What is DADS?
This cloud-based service is a realtime monitoring and warning system designed to help prevent drowsy driving and lack of alertness.
Using a Bluetooth camera tied to a smartphone with the DADS Mobile application, DADS uses this sophisticated technology to monitor three stages of alertness while you drive. And when the system detects reduced driver alertness which would lead to unsafe vehicle operation, audible and visual signals will occur, while also contacting third parties like family, friends or dispatch centers.
Detection of potential inattentiveness is also efficient because it’s not detected at the moment a driver begins to nod off, but up to two hours before a driver reaches a critically reduced state of awareness, ensuring ample time for proper actions to be taken to reduce risks.

This ability to recognize potential problems so much in advance can help prevent accidents, protect property, and save lives.
DADS Cloud Service
More than the driver alert, DADS also generates continuous reports on mileage, geolocation, driving patterns and driver fatigue with real-time data linked to DADS Cloud, making it an invaluable tool for commercial vehicle fleet administrators.
DADS Trip Service (part of DADS Cloud) for example, could become one of the best alternative solution for commercials fleets. It tracks the driver on and off duty time and generates reports for entire fleets, eliminating the risk of human error. The feature simplifies the driver’s task by providing the means to create travel log calculations automatically.
This service also include a GPS mapping service, which includes data on the estimated time of arrival to destination and information on gas-related expenses.
