Micromax to launch Canvas A350 (Canvas 5) packing an Octa-Core Processor

It was going to happen sooner than later and if rumors are to be believed, will be happening soon. Yes, we’re talking next-gen octa-core mobile processor which might be coming soon in Micromax’s newest flagship. The processor developed by MediaTek, was first used in Intex Aqua Octa smartphone. Micromax’s handset is allegedly named as Canvas A350 (Micromax Canvas 5), there are no concrete details about the smartphone, or even its name, but since it comes from the brand’s leaks specialist- MMXnewscaster, the information seems to be true.

The device will be carrying same screen size as of its predecessor Canvas Turbo and Canvas 4, i.e. 5-inch display. It’ll be a high-resolution Full HD display resulting in pixel density of 441 ppi.


As mentioned earlier, the device will draw power from MediaTek’s MT6592 processor which is clocked at 1.7GHz. The processor is touted as ‘true octa-core’ solution from the chip manufacturer, as it runs all the eight cores simultaneously for all apps and games.


To ensure that the device works smoothly, the processor will be supplemented by a 2GB RAM.

For storage needs, the Canvas A350 will likely be offering 16GB onboard memory which can be expanded further to 64GB.


With the Canvas A350, Micromax is aiming to target international brands like Samsung and Sony head on as the handset will be sporting a 16MP primary camera.

Operating System

The Micromax Canvas A350 will be based upon Android 4.3 Jelly Bean version with its own customizations on the top.

At the moment, the device is still a rumor and hence we must suggest you to take it with a grain of salt. However, Micromax needs to launch successor to Canvas Turbo soon to compete with other high-end devices from Indian manufacturers as well as yet to be launched flagships from International manufacturers.

    octo core?what does it means? it should be octa core right? must be an uneducated who made that.
