We have been astounded by the rapid rise of Indian manufacturer Micromax in just six years. From a small company, it has become rising star of India leading other local companies against the global tech giants. Micromax has a vast portfolio of devices across the whole price range from budget device of Rs. 2000 to as high as Rs. 20000. But, the company is not relying on pricing as its only tactic, it’s constantly bringing top notch hardware, intuitive software in its products. Moreover, it’s also able to perfect its distribution and marketing strategy to reach every nook and corner of the country. A huge part of this marketing exercise is played by brand ambassador. And that’s what we’ll be talking about first-
The company is not sitting back on its laurels and surely aims to become even bigger. Part of being bigger means expanding beyond India and going to other emerging markets.
To struck with global audiences, Micromax has taken everyone by surprise by choosing Hollywood star Hugh Jackman as its brand ambassador. Known for essaying the role of Wolverine in popular X-men movies series, Jackman is a famous Hollywood star and his star presence will surely benefit the company.
What exciting though is that this is not the first time company has signed a brand ambassador, so it’s necessary to trace its other ambassadors-
Interestingly, while the Hugh Jackman is being signed, we’re seeing parallel ads by Akshay Kumar promoting the recently launched Bolt A67 and Bolt . These ads are running in conjunction with his movie Boss, so that these devices are rightly targeted at that kind of audience. But, this is not the first time, Micromax has roped Akshay Kumar for its ads. Back in 2010, Micromax launched a campaign with Akshay Kumar to showcase not just its products, but its mantra of ‘Nothing like Anything’. The setting of the ad showed how various devices from the company can be helpful in any kind of situation.
There were several product specific ads as well, such as ad of Micromax Gamolution. The superstar was shown as being so addicted to motion controlled gaming with the device that the whole kitchen was turned into a mess.
Akshay Kumar’s wife was also roped in to promote Micromax’s female oriented series named as Bling. The phone had diamond encrusted design which surely pleased a lot of members of the opposite sex. She was seen again with the successor of the device dubbed as Bling 2.
Canvas Turbo A250: The Next Flagship
So, while it’s certainly a significant thing that Hugh Jackman will be starring in Micromax’s ads, it’s more important to see that the first ad is teasing Micromax’s next flagship to be named as Micromax Canvas Turbo A250. This phone would take on the strong legacy created by Canvas brand and mainly the flagship devices- Canvas A116 HD and Canvas 4.
Micromax Canvas Turbo A250 Rumors
Unfortunately, Micromax has a huge burden to carry on its shoulders, i.e., to wow, its customers with the flagship device. That is because, people had a lot of expectations from the Canvas 4 and mostly company disappointed them. So, it’s natural for the company to change that, with its successor, else consumers will stop showering their love on it.
The phone is supposed to bring a Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels resolution) display for the first time in a Micromax device. It’s also expected to have a better processor than the current MT6589 1.2 GHz quad-core processor which is present in almost all budget devices. The processor could be MediaTek MT6589 Turbo with the clock speed of 1.5 GHz. Perhaps, that is where the device has gotten its name. The RAM is expected to be of 2 GB, and internal memory of 16 GB. There is no information about the camera and connectivity, but we speculate they might be same as that of Canvas 4. The pricing would surely be more than Canvas 4, but in true Micromax style, it would still be able to undercut other brands.
So, if you’re planning to buy a powerful device, your wait may be ended with the soon to be revealed Micromax Canvas Turbo A250!
