Lenovo launches 8 inch Windows 8.1 based Miix2 Tablet

Following the global release of Microsoft’s update to Windows 8 OS dubbed as Windows 8.1 today, Lenovo has launched an all new tablet. Miix 2 is the successor to Miix tablet which had a display of 10 inches. Miix 2, however, comes with more handy display of 8 inches. It is also one of the first devices to be powered by Intel’s latest line of mobile processors based on Atom called as BayTrail.

Like all tablets released in past few weeks viz. Dell Venue and HP Slate, the Miix 2 runs on touch centric Windows 8.1 Operating System. With this version, the iconic start button is available at the home screen, and users also get the option to abilities to customize the tile based interface in start screen. The tablet also includes Microsoft Office Student and Home 2013 edition.

In terms of accessories, the tablet comes with a stylus and a detachable cover.

The tablet will be available for purchasing later this month. It has an economical price tag of 299 US Dollars for 32 GB model and 349 US Dollars for a 64 GB variant. There is no word about its availability in other countries and cost of the accessories.
