Acer expands its Chromebook Lineup with Low-Cost Variant and (rumored) Touchscreen C720

Google Chromebook is going really strong at the time when laptops are seeing declining sales against tablets. Even though, these devices are not exactly a laptop since they require an internet connection. Moreover, everything is on a cloud accessible through Google’s Chrome browser. Google has partnered with some major hardware manufacturers like HP, Samsung, Acer, etc for these devices. While HP and Samsung have a whole range of Chromebooks, Acer had only one Chromebook in its kitty- C720, which was release last month.

However, company is changing it now as it has introduced a new low-cost variant of the same which ditches the hard-disk for a solid state disk. The new variant is 50 dollars cheaper and offer almost the same configuration including better battery life. But, it has a 2 GB of RAM instead of 4 GB of RAM, but it will not make much of a difference since the Chromebook is very good at memory management.

Another variant of C720 is now spotted on Amazon France website which is a touchscreen variant. This will be a premium variant at a higher price as it was listed at 299 euros.
